"Gu(the strength of character)" and "Shi(The energy and emotion)"——The aesthetic pursuit of the Wei and Jin Calligraphy

Abstract

In the Wei and Jin Dynasties,the prevalence of the peoples' strength of character directly promoted the developing of the strength of character of the Six Dynasties calligraphy. At the same time,the theory of the calligraphy Shi(The energy and emotion) deeply affected the Wei and Jin Dynasties.This paper discusses the relationship of the strength of character between peoples and calligraphy,and explains the aesthetic pursuit of the Wei and Jin's Calligraphy:on the point of calligraphy strength of character,peoples advocat the aesthetic ideal,that is couple hardness with softness ,temper toughness with gentleness,Combination of Gu、Shi and Charm.
