Abstract
Objective:To set up animal model of chronic intermittent hypoxia in normal pressure and study the effect of chronic intermittent hypoxia on hypothalamic-pituitary-testicular axis. Methods:Rats were respectively exposed to room air 4 weeks(unhandled control,UC),intermittent hypoxia 4 weeks(chronic intermittent hypoxia,CIH),intermittent hypoxia 4 weeks and then room air 4 weeks(restore hypoxia,RH).Testosterone(T),follicle-stimulating hormone(FSH),luteotropic hormone(LH)in serum of rats were measured by radioimmunity, and gonadotropin-releasing hormone in hypothalamus of rats were measured by immunohistochemistry. Results:The level of T,FSH,LH,GnRH of the rats in the CIH group decreased significantly than those in the UC group and RH group, but there was no difference between UC group and RH group. Conclusions:Chronic intermittent hypoxia can lead rats' hypothalamic-pituitary-testicular axis to abnormality and disorder of feedback regulation, restore hypoxia can make it normal.
