Abstract

The invasion and metastasis plays an important action in progress of malignant tumor.S100A4 gene is a new found gene which can promote the progress of tumor in recent several years. The gene encodes a calciun-binding protein whichplays a important action in progress of tumor by binding with calcium ions.Heparanase was an endo-D-glucuronidase that can cleave heparan sufatprotroglycans and has been implicated in tumor angiogenesis and metastasis.Below we disscuss its biochemical properties and possible cellular functions in metastasis including cell motility, invasion, apoptosis and angiogenesis.
