Abstract
The studied results of catalytic synthesis of isobutyl acetate are introduced using rare earth metallic oxide, phase transfer catalyst, aminosulfonic acid, heteropoly acids, ferriammonium sulfate, and inorganic salts as catalysts .It showed that aminosulfonic acid, heteropoly acids,FeCl_3·6H_2O and CuCl_2·2H_2O had high catalytic activity and good quality of products. The author applied SnCl_2 supported on silica gel as a new catalyst to synthesize isobutyl acetate. The best reaction conditions were :acetic acid was 0.1 mol, molar ratio of iso-butyl alcohol to acetic acid was 1.5∶1,amount of catalyst was 1.5 g, reaction at 150 ℃ for 4 h,the last conversion was 93.87%.Using SnCl_4/SiO_2 as catalyst has a lot of advantages, such as high activity, excellent selectivity as well as no corrosion to facilities and may reused.
