Abstract

The modern water conservancy requires the harmonious coexistence between human and nature and sustainable development of economy and society.In order to select a favorable flood control capacity and control regulation mode for Xiajiang Reservoir,2 flood regulation schemes are analyzed and compared,namely,the flood control task shared simultaneously by the reservoir and the flood diversion storage area,and the flood control mainly by the reservoir and the downstream flood of dam by the flood diversion storage area.Through analysis and comparison,the former scheme is selected for determining the flood storage of Xiajiang Reservoir.The flood control operation of reservoir is based on the water level in front of dam and upstream incoming flow.This operation mode can not only fully utilize the existing flood diversion storage project,but also protect the land resources and reduce the inundation area without increasing the engineering investment,meeting the requirement of downstream flood control.
