Assessment and Clustering Analysis of the Green Development Level of Shandong Province

The green development is the new development model to achieve sustainable development strategy. It's the core issue closely related to the transformation of economic development mode that how to measure the green level of development. Taking 17 cities in Shandong Province as the research unit,from the three aspects of greening degree of economic growth,resources and environment carrying potential and government policy support, selecting nine two-level indicators and thirty-seven three-level indicators,we built the assessment index system of green development level and,analyzed and evaluated the green development level of the cities in Shandong Province. The results show that the green development level is significantly different in different cities and the spatial distribution shows that it is higher in eastern and southern rigions than westerns and northern regions( in addition to Zaozhuang). According to the results,three different green development state level types are distinguished by adopting the method of clustering analysis,those are: P1Relative Balanced,P2Single super-type,P3Basic harmonic type,and five sub-categories. We analyzed each type of cities on economic characteristics,resource and environment condition,policy support concretely. Finally,we put forward the main direction of future development of every types of cities,which will provide scientific basis for the green development in Shandong Province.
