A Study on the development of urbanization in Shandong Province based on principle component analysis

Based on analyzing shortcomings of traditional measure methods of urbanization development level,we constructed the modern evaluation index system of urbanization development with 24 indexes which were selected from the field of population development,economic development,social development,living condition and ecological environment.Using principal component analysis,we synthetically measured the region urbanization development level in Shandong Province,and then divided 17 cities into six different types according to the comprehensive scores by Cluster Analysis.While discussing the regional differentiation of urbanization development level in Shandong Province,we further analyzed the main problems and the future development direction of different types of cities.
