Abstract

Objective To observe the therapeutic effect and safety of intravenous metopmlol on patients with acute myocardial infarction. Methods Eighty patients were divided into metopmlol group and control group randomly.Patients in metoprolol group were injected metoprolol intravenously at doses of 5~15 mg and then treated with oral metoprolol.Patients in control group were treated with basic medical therapy without metoprolol. Results Compared with control group, chest pain in metoprolol group was reduced(P0.05)the malignant arrhythmia were decreased markedly(P0.01).The fatality rate in metoprolol group were decreased markedly(P0.05).Conclusion It is effective and safe that administering intravenous metoprolol as early as possible to patients with acute myocardial infarction. It is worth generalizing the treatment into clinic.
