Abstract
Objective To explore the curative effect and safety of the treatment by using the combination of Escitaloparm and mirtazapine for refractory depression. Methods Totally 64 cases of patient with refractory depression were randomly divided into two groups of 32 cases each, research group for Escitaloparm combination treatment with mirtazapine, the control group only with s- citalopram, was observed for 8 weeks. Efficacy were assessed with the Hamilton Depression Scale(HAMD) and adverse reaction with the Treatment Emergent Symptom Scale(TESS) before treatment and at the end of the 2nd,4th and 8th week. Results There were significant differences in the duration of score- reducing rate between the two groups at the end of the 4st and 8nd week(P ﹤ 0. 05). The research group lowered more significantly than the control group in the HAMD total scores. Adverse reaction of both groups were mild, there were no significant differences in the TESS scores between the two groups( P 0. 05). Conclusions Escitaloparm and mirtazapine is safe and effective in the treatment of patients with refractory depression.
