Expression of P53 and Survivin protein in epithelial ovarian cancer tissue

Abstract
Aim:To investigate the expression of P53 and Survivin protein in epithelial ovarian cancer tissue.Methods:The expression of P53 and Survivin protein in 61 cases of epithelial ovarian cancer(histological types:43 cases of serous adenocarcinoma,18 cases of mucinous adenocarcinoma;differentiation degree:30 cases of high-differentiated,21 cases of middle-differentiated,10 cases of low-differentiated;30 cases with lymph node metastasis,31 cases,without) tissue was detected using immunohistochemistry.Results:Thirty-two cases had P53 positive expression and 40 cases had Survivin positive expression in 61 cases of epithelial ovarian cancer tissue.The expression of P53 and Survivin was related to differentiation degree,clinical stage,and lymph node metastasis,but not with histological type.The expression of Survivin was correlated with that of P53(r=0.558,P0.05).Conclusion:The expression of P53 and Survivin protein is related to the occurrence,development and metastasis of epithelial ovarian cancer,and can be used as an indicator for judging poor prognosis.
