Abstract

Objective To investigate the serotype distribution and antibiotic resistance of clinical isolates of invasive Streptococcus pneumoniae in our hospital, and to provide reference for clinical medication and vaccine research. Methods A total of 52 strains invasive Streptococcus pneumoniae were collected from January,2009 to May,2013,serotypes of Streptococcus pneumoniae were performed by using quelling reaction. MIC dilution method was used to detect drug sensitivity. Results 15 serum type / group were identified in 52 strains of invasive pneumoniae, the most common serotypes were 14( 21. 2%),19A( 15. 4%),6B( 11. 5%),19F( 9. 6%),23F( 9. 6%),3( 9. 6%),6A( 5. 8%),1 strain could not be determined for serotype. All invasive Streptococcus pneumoniae were sensitive to vancomycin and levofloxacin, erythromycin, tetracycline, clindamycin, and the resistant rates were 96. 2%,64. 7% and 89. 5% respectively. Conclusion The major serotypes of invasive Streptococcus pneumoniae were 14,19 A,6B,19 F,23F,3,6A,which were seriously resistant to erythromycin, tetracycline and clindamycin.
