Abstract
The graft copolymer of cationic starch, styrene(St) and butyl acrylate(BA) was produced by soap-free emulsion polymerization and it’s sizability was studied. The results showed that the best performance and properties/prices ratio could be achieved when mass ratio of starch graft copolymer emulsion to oxidized starch was 3∶100,mass fraction of Al2(SO4)3 was 0.4% and pH value of sizing agent was 4.The sizability of starch graft copolymer is better than both oxidized starch and monomer polymer.
