Abstract
Fuzhou dialect is a representational dialect of Gan dialect,called medieval phonetic living fossil.The investigation of this paper is based on Zhongling,a place of Fuzhou suburbs.It summarizes 19 consonants(excluding softly),67 finals and 7 tunes of Fuzhou dialect,and analyzes the basic characteristics of Fuzhou dialect consonant,rhyme and tune;then it compares Fuzhou dialect with the medieval phonology from the three aspects: consonant,rhyme and tune.By summing up the rules of consonant,rhyme and tune of medieval phonology in Fuzhou dialect,the paper finds Fuzhou dialect still retains a lot of phonetic features of Tang and Song Dynasties.
