Abstract
Objective To investigate the effectiveness of phacoemulsification and intraocular lens implantation combined with trabeculectomy for cataract and angle-closure glaucoma.Methods 62 patients(46~85 years old) with cataract and angle-closure glaucoma were treated with phacoemulsification,intraocular lens implantation and trabeulectomy,the changes in vision,intraocular pressure,anterior chamber angle and ocular fundus after operation were evaluated.Results At follow-up of months 6 and months 12,vision,intraocular pressure and anterior chamber angle significantly improved.Complicaions included temporary shallow anterior chamber,corneal edema and posterior lens capsule opacity.Conclusion Phacoemulsification and intraocular lens implantation combined with trabeculectomy are effective and safe for patients with cataract and angle-closure glacoma with few complications and good visual outcome.
