Abstract
OBJECTIVE To analyze the epidemiological characteristics of viral hepatitis in Lianyungang city,so as to provide the evidence for preventive measures.METHODS The data were arranged and analyzed by Epi Info software.RESULTS 11 632 cases of viral hepatitis were reported from 1999 to 2008,the average morbidity of viral hepatitis was 25.10/100 000 from 1999-2008.The overall incidence of hepatitis A had a downtrend, hepatitis C and E had a raising trend at different rates.Hepatitis B,hepatitis unclassified had no significant upward or downward trend. The incidence of hepatitis had no significant seasonality. The main patients were farmers, accounting for 54.68%.Cases were mainly concentrated in the 20 to 59 years, accounting for 73.04%.CONCLUSION The public need to further improve awareness of disease prevention and initiative and to accept immunization.Meanwhile, expand immunization extent for population, and strengthen immunization for focus groups, based on routine immunization of hepatitis A hepatitis B vaccine, are very important.
