Expression of MMP-2,MMP-9 and CD147 and their relationships in bladder transitional cell carcinoma

Objective:To investigate the expression of MMP-2,MMP-9 and CD147 in bladder transitional cell carcinoma and their relationships. Methods:The expression of MMP-2,MMP-9 and CD147,in cancer tissue of 48 patients with bladder transitional cell carcinoma and in normal tissue of 16 controls were detected by immunohistochemistry,and compared,and their relationships were evaluated. Results:The positive rates of MMP-2,MMP-9 and CD147 expression in bladder transitional cell carcinoma (100%,95.8% and 93.8% respectively) were significantly higher than those in controls (P0.05). The positive expression was significant correlated to the pathological grade and clinical stages (P0.05),but negatively related to clinical prognosis (P0.05). Simultaneous expression of MMP-2,MMP-9 and CD147 were frequently showed in bladder transitional cell carcinoma tissue and had a notable correlation,correlation coefficients were 0.784 and 0.853 (P0.001),respectively. Conclusion:MMP-2,MMP-9 and CD147 may play important roles in the development of bladder transitional cell carcinoma. The increased secretion of MMP-2,and MMP-9 may be related to the inducement of CD147.
