Abstract
Objective To explore the relationship between mental health and self-congruence in college freshmen. Methods A total of 634 college freshman were questionnaired with SCL-90 and self consistency and congruence.Self consistency and congruence situation in freshmen with different mental health level, and correlation of SCL-90 score and self-consistency congruence were analyzed using correlation analysis and t-test. Results Freshmen with a high level mental health had lower scores of self-inconsistency,and self-stereotype,and higher scores of self flexibility.Interpersonal relationship and depression was positively correlated with self-inconsistency(r=0.107,r=0.088).The subsidiary scales of SCL-90 was negatively correlated with self-flexibility,but positively correlated with self-stereotype. Conclusion Self consistency and congruence could significantly influence mental health.
