Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the relations between self-congruence and mental health, and the effect of SCCS(Self Consistency and Congruence Scale) in evaluation.816 college students(392 male and 424 female, average age 19.1 yrs) completed the SCCS and SCL-90 questionnaires.Significant relations were found between factors of Self-Congruence(such as incongruence, flexibility and rigidity) and the factors of SCL-90.The self-congruence level of the students with better mental health was higher than the students with worse. The incongruence factor of SCCS was distinguished in evaluating an individual's mental health. The higher mental health level he has,the better self-congruence he has.
