Abstract

A new alkylated and silylated β _ cyclodextrin derivative, 2,6 _ di _ O _ butyl _ 3 _ O _ trimethylsilyl _ β _ cyclodextrin, has been synthesized with trimethyl chlorosilane and bromobutane, and coated on a fused capillary column as a stationary phase with methyl _ phenylsilicone as a dilutent by rapidly superdynamical coating method. Chromatographic properties such as column efficiency, thermal stability and column life span, have been investigated. A series of enantiomers have been separated on the capillary column. Results show that the alkylated and silylated β _ cyclodextrin derivative is suitable for use as chiral stationary phase with good chromatographic properties in separating enantiomers.
