Abstract

A new β cyclodextrin derivative was synthesized with trimethyl chlorosilane and bromoheptane. It is coated by the rapid superdynamic method in a fused capillary column and is used as a stationary phase, with methyl phenylsilicone as diluent. Chromatographic properties such as column efficiency, thermal stability and column life span, were investigated. A series of enantiomers were separated on the capillary column. Results showed that the alkylated and silylated β cyclodextrin derivative is suitable for use as chiral stationary phase with good chromatographic properties in separating enantiomers.
