Abstract
Objective To investigate the expression of c-myc protein and CD44v6 in epithelial ovarian tumor and to discuss their clinical significance. Methods The expression of c-myc and CD44v6 was detected by immunohistochemistry in 77 cases of ovarian epithelial tumors and normal ovarian tissue. Results The positive rate of cmyc expression in malignant ovarian epithelial tumor was 62.2%,significantly higher than that of benign and borderline ovarian epithelial tumor(P 0.05).The positive rate of CD44v6 expressionin in malignant ovarian epithelial tumor was 26.7%,which had not correlated with histological type and clinical stage of epithelial ovarian cancer(P 0.05),but were significantly related to the differentiation grade(P 0.05).The expression of c-myc was significantly related to that of CD44v6.Conclusion The expression of c-myc is significantly related to the pathogenesis of ovarian cancer, suggesting that C-myc can be used as a marker for ovarian cancer tumor;CD44v6 may involve in the occurrence and development of ovarian cancer,in which c-myc may play a synergistic role.
