Abstract
Objective To study the expression of p53 protein in epithelial ovarian tumor and the clinical value of that.Methods The expression level of p53 protein was evaluated by immunohistochemistry in 26 cases of ovarian carcinomas and 8 cases of human benign ovarian epithelial tumors.Results The positive rate of p53 protein expression was higher in 26 cases of ovarian carcinomas than that in 8 cases of human benign ovarian epithelial tumors(73.1% vs 0.0%,P0.000).The expression level of P53 protein was positively correlated with histological grades in 26 cases of ovarian carcinomas.Conclusion Loss of p53 tumor suppressor gene function may play a key role in the pathogenesis of epithelial ovarian cancer
