Influence of interleukin-10 on the cytokine in acute lung injury in rats induced by endotoxin

Objective To study influences of IL_10 on the cytokine in acute lung injury in rats induced by endotoxin.Methods Twenty-four SD rats were divided into three groups:control group,experiment group and treatment group.LPS was injected through tail vein in experiment group,LPS and IL-10 were injected through tail vein in treament group,and normal saline was injected through tail vein in control group.Expression of TNF-α,IL-1β,IL-6 mRNA in the lung tissue and levels of plasma TNF-α,IL-1β,IL-6 in the three groups were measured.Lung tissue was also used for pathological examination.Results The mRNA expression and the plasma levels of cytokines in experiment and treatment groups were significantly higher than those in control group(P0.01),while experiment group were significantly higher than treatment group(P0.05).The degree of lung injury in treatment group was significantly attenuated.Conclusion IL-10 can inhibit the expression of TNF-α,IL-1β,and IL-6 mRNA in the lung tissue,and attenuate pathological renal tissue injury.IL-10 may be effective in treating ALI.
