Abstract

Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of Baijie Powder on the postoperative wound in perianal abscess patients with diabetes. Methods Forty-four perianal abscess patients with diabetes were randomly divided into treatment group(n=22) and control group(n=22).Both groups received antidiabetic and anti-infective therapy.During dressing change,Baijie Powder was applied in the treatment group, and vaseline gauze was used in the control group. The treatment outcomes of the two groups were evaluated based on the degrees of wound pain, effusion, rates of wound healing, and numbers of fibroblasts at 7th and 14th day after operation. Results At 7 d after operation, the treatment group had a significantly lower degree of wound pain and significantly less effusion than the control group(P0.05),but there were no significant differences in rate of wound healing and number of fibroblasts between the two groups(P0.05).At 14 d after operation, there were no significant differences in degree of wound pain and effusion between the two groups(P0.05),but the treatment group had a significantly higher rate of wound healing and a significantly larger number of fibroblasts than the control group(P0.05).Conclusion Baijie Powder can be used for treating the postoperative wound in perianal abscess patients with diabetes. It can alleviate wound pain and reduce effusion early after operation and promote wound healing later.
