Abstract
Objective: To study the clinical significance of serum sialic acid in the dignosis of malignant tumor. Methods: Content of serum sialicacid in the groups of normal control, benign lesion and malignanttumor was assayedby means of single chemistry chromometry. Results: The results showed that serum sialic acid level was significantly higher in patients with malignant tumor than that in the normal controls and benign lesion group, and there was an obvious difference ( P 0.0001). At the same time, in patients with malignant tumors, sialic acid positive rate was obviously higher than that of the other two groups (P 0.0001). Conclusion: The determination of serum sialic acid may be the accessorial index for the diagnosis of malignant tumors.
