Abstract

Objective:To study the methods and effectiveness of interventional treatment for huge hepatic cavernous hemagioma(HHCH).Methods:20 patients with HHCH were embolized by gelfoam particles after the mixture of pingyangmycin (PYM) (16~32mg) and lipiolol-ultrafluid (10~20ml) demonstrated via hepatic arterial successively. Results:In all cases preoperative hepatic angiography showed multiple abnormal vascular lakes in arterial phase known as the popcorn like tumor stainsign and early emerge but late disappear sign. After the treatment, symptoms relieved and tumor size decreased commonly in some degree was seen in all patients. Conclusion:Hepatic arterial embolization with PYM-mixed lipiodol-ultrafluid and gelfoam particles is an effective therapy method against hepatic cavernous hemangioma.
