Abstract
AIM To study the chemical constituents of Androsace umbellata. METHODS The powdered whole herbs of Androsace umbellata was extracted by 95% ethanol, and the extract was suspended in water and partitioned with petroleum ether,CH2Cl2,EtOAc,and n-butanol in turn. The extract from n-butanol part was isolated and purified by many chromatography means and recrystallization, and all compounds were identified by the means of spectroscopic analysis and physico-chemical property. RESULTS Two compounds were elucidated as 2,3-furandiol(1) and 2,4-dihydroxy-6-(4-hydroxybenzoyloxyl-)-benzoyl acid(2),respectively. CONCLUSION Two compounds are all obtained from the botanical plants for the first time and NMR data is in detail.
