Abstract

AIM To study the chemical constituents of Memorialis hirta.METHODS The powdered whole herb of Memorialis hirta was extracted by 95% ethanol,and the extract was suspended in water and partitioned with petroleum ether,EtOAc,and n-butanol.The extract from EtOAc part was isolated and purified by silica gel column chromatography and recrystallization means,and all compounds were identified by the means of spectroscopic analysis and physico-chemical property.RESULTS Twelve compounds were obtained and all the compounds were elucidated as friedelin(1),epifriedelanol(2),β-amyin(3),α-amyin(4),lupeol(5),β-sitosterol(6),stigmasterol(7),oleanolic acid(8),ursolic acid(9),pomalic acid(10),β-sitosterol 3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside(11),and stigmasterol 3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside(12),respectively.CONCLUSION All compounds are obtained from the genus Memorialis for the first time.
