Abstract
AIM: To study the chemical constituents from the whole plant of Androsace umbellata (Lour.) Merr.. METHODS : The fractions of ethanol extract of the herb were subjected to silica gel,Sephadex LH-20 and ODS column chromatography to afford seven compounds. Their structures were identified on the basis of spectral analysis and chemical methods. RESULTS: Seven compounds were identified as kaempferol (1),rutin (2),quercetin (3),primulanin (4),saxifragifolia B (5),saxifragifolia D (6)and daucosterol(7). CONCLUSION: Compounds 1~7 were isolated from this plant for the first time.
