Clinical observation on two-incision phacoemulsification and trabeculectomy for cataract patients with glaucoma.

Objective To evaluate the therapeutic effects of combined two-incision phacoemulsification and trabeculectomy surgery with intraocular lens implantation. Methods 30 cases(35 eyes) cataract patients with primary open-angle or angle-closure glaucoma were assigned to undergo two-incision combined surgery.Best-corrected visual acuity(BCVA),intraocular pressure(IOP) control of pre-and post-operation and postoperative filtering bleb formation were analyzed and compared.Results The postoperative BCVA were ≥0.3 in 28 eyes(80.00%),obviously more than that before the surgery. The mean postoperative IOP was(14.35±3.03) mmHg.The function bleb was formed in 32 eyes(91.43%).No serious postoperative complications occurred. Conclusions Two-incision phacoemulsification combined with trabeculectomy is a safe,effective operation for cataract patients with glaucoma.
