Abstract
Objective:To analyse the clinical efficacy of stop and chop technique in phacoemulsification with intraocular lens implantation; Method: 206 patients (226 eyes) with cataract were treated with IOL implantation after cataract phacoemulsification under 5.5mm corneal incision without suture.Results:Postoperatively,in 202 eyes(89.4%) the visual acuity recovered to 0.5 or better at one week and 213 eyes(94.2% ) to 0.5 or better at one month. Conclusion:The phacoemulsification and lens implantation shorten the time of the cataract operation and the period of visual rehabilitation,The efficiency is significantly higher than conventional cataract opertion. The stop and chop technique can reduce the operation time,mechanic energy and complications. It is a valuable technique to be applied.
