Abstract

Objective To study the character, skill, complication and its prevention of IOL implantation after cataract phacoemulsification. Methods 304 eyes were treated with IOL implantation after cataract phacoemulsification under 5.5 mm incision without suture. Results In 147 eyes (48.35%) the visual acuity recovered to 1.0 or better at one week and 198 eyes(65.13%) recovered to 1.0 or better at one month. The main complications were posterior capsule rupture (8 eyes, 2.63%), corneal edema and opacity (26 eyes,8.55%).Conclusion The IOL implantation after cataract phacoemulsification with sutureless tunnel like method can receive a better visual acuity, however, the key factors of the operation lie in the method of the operation and the doctor's skill.
