Abstract
Objective:To evaluate the value of MRA and MRI in the diagnosis of moyamoya disease.Methods:18 patients examined by MRA and DSA were reviewed(5 patients examined by DSA) with Elscint 2.0T MR scanner and GE Advantx DSA system.Results:On MRA,multiple occluded or stenosed vessels can be well demonstrated.Hazy-like collateral network was showed in moyamoya disease.On MRI,it was showed that the signal intensity decreased in occluded or stenosed cranial basal vessels.The characteristic of collateral network showed that tortuous vessels from the suprasella cistern to the basal ganglia.8 patents showed hemorrhage.Conclusion:As a noninvasive vascular imaging method,MRA and MRI can well demonstrate various changes of moyamoya disease.It provides an accurate approach for the diagnosis of moyamoya disease.
