History and Present Situation of Collection of Shang Dynasty Inscriptions on Ancient Bronzeware

Since the beginning of Song Dynasty,the paleographers started to collect and study the inscriptions on bronzeware of Shang and Zhou dynasties with great enthusiasm.Since the 20th century,with the large number of inscriptions on bronzeware of the Shang Dynasty unearthed,more research contents and results have been seen.This article outlines the history and present situation of collection of the Shang Dynasty inscriptions on ancient bronzewares in terms of the recording of inscriptions and compilation of reference books,in order to benefit future study of Shang Dynasty inscriptions.
