Abstract
Objective To study the impact of radiotherapy on the immune function of patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma. Methods A total of 134 cases of previously untreated patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma were studied.Cellular immune phenotype(CD3+,CD4+ and CD4+/CD8+) changes were tested by flow cytometry and the immune function was compared before and after radiotherapy. Results Levels of CD3+,CD4+ and CD4+/CD8+ decreased significantly(P0.01) after radiation, while the level of CD8+ increased significantly. Conclusion Radiotherapy can weaken immune function and reduce the expression of CD4+/CD8+,suggesting that the immunotherapy should be supplemented during irradiation.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
A contribution statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
Method details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Findings are not separately available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Limitations are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Application details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
