The Analysis of Controlling Rate of Irbesartan/Hydrochlorothiazide Combination over Mild to Moderate Hypertension

Objective:To investigate the effect of irbesartan / hydrochlorothiazide combination over mild to moderate hypertension.Methods: 69 patients with hypertension were enrolled in this study and one to two pills of irbesartan / hydrochlorothiazide combination were given to them during six weeks.The antihypertensive efficacy of the combination of irbesartan and hydrochlorothiazide was assessed by 24-hours ambulatory blood pressure monitoring.Results: The trough/peak ratio of irbesartan / hydrochlorothiazide combination was 0.69±0.19 and 0.67±0.25 respectively.There was very obvious statistical discrepancy between the 24-hour blood pressure load,the 24-hour average blood pressure and the day and night blood pressure before and after the use of irbesartan / hydrochlorothiazide combination.Conclusions: The irbesartan/ hydrochlorothiazide combination was a kind of effective drug with better trough/peak ratio.
