Abstract

Urbanization level is an important sign standing for the level of economic development in an area.Based on the spatial autocorrelation method,spatial distribution pattern of the urbanization level in Henan province has been studied in this paper by using the urbanization level data in 2007.The results showed that the global Moran's I index of the urbanization level was 0.299,which achieved the significant positive correlation and the urbanization level distribution took on significant spatial agglomeration on global leve1.Meanwhile,significant local spatial autocorrelation also occurred.On the whole,the number of towns with positive correlation was much more than that with negative correlation.Some countermeasures and suggestions were put forward for promoting rapid and overall development of the urbanization level in Henan province.
