Abstract

objective To investigate the significance of expression of p16 and bcl-2 in cervical intraepithelial neoplasia ang invisive cervical carcinoma. Methods The expression of p16 and bcl-2 proteins of 69 cases of normal cervical tissue cervical intraepithelial neoplasia and cervical carcinoma was detected by Elivision's immunohistochemical staining and the results were correlate with the results. Results The expression of p16 was significantly higher in CIN than in normal cervixes(P0.01),It was significanthly higher in cervical carcinomas than in normal cervixes(P0.01),and higher than in CIN(P0.05).The expression of bcl-2 was signinfican higher in CIN than in normal cervixes(P0.01).It was significanthly higher in cervical carcinomas than in normal ctrvixes(P0.01),but no statistical defference between in cervical carcinomas and in CIN.No statistical difference of expression in cervical carcinomas and CIN was found between p16 and bcl-2 protein. Conclusions The results indicated that the expression of p16 and bcl-2 protein was associated with the carcinogenesis of cervical cancer. It is suggested that p16 and bcl-2 expression may be taken as an effective immunohistochemical makers for early detection.
