Abstract

Objective To investigate the significance of expression of CD44v6 and p16 in cervical Intraepithelial neoplasia(CIN) and cervical carcinoma. Methods The expression of CD44v6 and pl6 proteins of 95 cases of normal cervical tissue, cervical intraepithelial neoplasia and cervical carcinoma was detected by SP immunohistochemical staling and the results were correlate with the results. Results The expression of CD44v6 was significantly higher in CIN than innormal cervixes(P0.01).It was significantly higher in cervical carcinomas than in normal cervixes(P0.01),and higher than in CIN(P0.01).The expression of p16 was significantly higher in CIN than in normal cervixes(P0.01),It was significantly higher in cervical carcinomas than in normal cervixes(P0. 01).No statistical difference of expression in cervical carcinomas and CIN was found between CD44v6 and p16 protein. Conclusion The results indicated that the expression of CD44v6 and p16 protein was associated with the carcinogenesis of cervical cancer. It is suggested that CD44v6 and p16 expression may be taken as aneffecfive immunohistochemical makers for early detection.
