Abstract
Objective To investigate the significance of the overexpression of bcl-2 in cervical intraepithelial neoplasia and invasive cervical carcinoma.Methods With lmmunohistochemical method, we detected bcl-2 protein in 10 cases of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia(CIN),57 cases of cervical carcinoma and 11 cases of normal cervical squamous cell epithelium respectively.Results The immunoreactivity of bcl-2 protein in CIN was remarkably higher than that in normal control ( P 0 05).Not only the positive percentage of bcl-2 protein, but also the immunoreactivity of it in cervical carcinomas was much higher than that in normal control ( P 0 01).The overexpression of bcl-2 protein in clinical stage Ⅲ of cervical cancer was remarkably higher than that in clinical stage Ⅱ ( P 0 05).Conclusions The results indicated that the overexpression of bcl-2 protein was not only associated with the carcinogenesis of cervix, but also with the progression of cervical cancer.
