Abstract

Culture in different nations and regions is diversified.This cultural difference causes difficulty in translation.However,translation is a way of communication,through which we know about foreign culture and custom.So translators need to overcome cultural barrier and avoid culture shock so as to realize the aim of cultural communication.This paper discusses the influences of cultural differences on translation in the following five aspects: word imagery,rhetoric,mode of understanding thinking,idioms,religious belief and historic allusion.
