Abstract

Objective To evaluate clinical outcome of massive allograft combined with autograft bone to repair large bone defect after bone infection. Methods Fifteen cases with large bone defect after bone infection were treated with massive allograft combined with autograft bone and locking nail fixation. From April 2000 to May 2006.Results All the 15 patients were followed up.The followup ranged from 14 months to 5 years with an average of 3.2 years.Among the fifteen patients 14 fractured-bone had bony union, infection relapsed in one patients and cured after surgery again. Conclusion Allograft bone is a good implant material, because of its broader sources and conveniency, allograft bone combined with autograft bone can be used in large bone defect after infection.
