Abstract

Objective:To explore the effect of early rehabilitation on neurological function and the activities of daily living (ADL) in patients with acute cerebrovascular disease in order to further improve patients' living ability, life quality and reduce disability rate. Methods:From January 2008 to June 2009 in neurology department,64 patients were randomly divided into rehabilitation group(23 cases) and control group(23 cases). The control group received routine treatment combined with traditional massage therapy;the rehabilitation group received routine treatment combined with early rehabilitative intervention. Neurological function and ADL were assessed before treatment and after 24 months of treatment. Results:Both groups were dramatically improved in neurological function and ADL after 3 months of treatment, and the degree of improvent of rehabilitation group was significantly higher than that of control group(P0.05). Conclusion:The early rehabilitative intervention can improve neurological function, promote functional recovery and improve quality of life for patients.
