Treatment of patella fracture with the absorbable screw fixation and tension band by PDS-II

Objective To evaluate efficacy of the absorbable screw fixation and tension band by PDS-Ⅱ suture instrumenttation in the treatment of the patella fracture.Methods In a retrospective review of 29 patients with patella fracture were treated with absorbable screw and tension band by PDS-Ⅱ suture instrumentation.Results 29 patients with patella fracture,there were 26 with transverse fracture,1 with longitudinal fracture,2 with comminuted fracture.All cases will following-up,the duration of following up were from 3～15 moos.All fratures heal,no infection,the rate of excellen results is satisfactory.Conclusion This method has the advantages of simple manipulation,less operative trauma,firm fixation,earier mobilizaton.fast recovery,avoid taking out internal fixation metials though second operation.
