Treatment of patella fracture with absorbable screw fixation and PDS-II tension band

Objective To evaluate effects of absorbable screw fixation and tension band by PDS-Ⅱ suture instrumentation on treatment of patella fracture.Methods The clinical data of 32 patients with patella fracture were reviewed.Results Among 32 patients with patella fracture,there were 28 cases with transverse fracture,1 case with longitudinal fracture,3 cases with comminuted fracture.All cases were followed up 3-15 months.All cases healed.No infection was found and the rate of excellen results is satisfactory.Conclusion The method has the advantages of simple manipulation,less operative time,firm fixation,early mobilization,fast recovery and there is no need of secondary operation.
