Analysis of Prescriptions of Decoction Pieces in Shanghai Eighth People's Hospital

Abstract

OBJECTIVE: To improve the quality of prescriptions of decoction pieces in order to promote rational use of drugs. METHODS: By random sampling,600 outpatient prescriptions of decoction pieces( referred to as hospital group) versus 288 prescriptions taken from textbook of Formulas of Chinese Medicine( referred to as the prescription group) were randomly sampled with prescription factors analyzed statistically using computer. RESULTS: There were great differences in two set of data, and prescription analysis also revealed differences between the two. CONCLUSION: Great importance should be attached to the overall level of the prescriptions structure of prescriptions of herbal pieces for decoction.
