Synthesized Evaluation and Tempo-spatial Evolution Characteristics of Urbanization Level in Henan Province

Abstract

The paper estimates the urbanization level of 18 cities in Henan province in three different years by using principal components analysis and combines the results with figures and data by ArcView GIS.Some conclusions are as follows: The urbanization level of Henan Province presents a center-enclosure structure in the space.The center has a excursive tendency to the middle region of Henan Province;moreover,this structure has a very strong historical dependent characteristic;discrepant policy for urbanization should be carried out for the areas despite the same urbanization development.
