Abstract

You 87 is a new indica hybrid rice combination developed from the CMS line Ⅱ-32A and a new restorer line R87 (Minghui 63/6078). It is characteristic of high and stable yield. It yielded 8.97 and 7.8 t/hm 2 in Hubei provincial medium rice regional trials in 2002 and 2003, 7.4% and 1.13% higher than the check hybrid Shanyou 63, respectively. Its grain quality and blast resistance are also better than those of Shanyou 63. It was certified in Hubei in March, 2004.
