Breeding and Application of New Late Hybrid Rice Combination T You 277 with High Yield and Good Quality

T You 277,T98A/R277,is a new late-cropping indica hybrid rice combination developed by Hunan Rice Research Institute.It shows high and stable yield potential.In Hunan provincial regional trials for late rice in 2007 and 2008,it yielded 7.67 t/hm2 on average,5.50% higher than the check hybrid Weiyou 46,and matured in 117.6 days on average,3.4 days earlier than the check.Its grain quality meets to the 3rd class of standards for food rice varieties on NY/T 593-2002.In March,2009,it was certified and released to commercial production by Hunan Provincial Crop Variety Appraisal Committee.
