Abstract
Objective To explore the effect of Yixintai on myocardial remodeling and heart function in rats with chronic heart failure. Methods A rat model of chronic heart failure was induced by coronary artery ligationin. Then the model rats were divided equally into five groups: model group,high-dose 10.4 g/(kg·d), middle-dose 5.2 g/(kg·d), low-dose 2.6 g/(kg·d)of Yixintai groups and Cozaar group. The normal control was also designed. The model group was received an equal volume of saline by gavage. The medication was given once daily in each treated group for 8 weeks, the normal control group received no medication. Echocardiographic indices and myocardial remodeling index was measured by echocardiography after 8 weeks of medication. Mealwhile we adopted H-E and Massion staining to observe the morphology changes of left ventricular myocardium. Results Compared with the model group, the LVIDs and LVIDd of high-dose, middle-dose, low-dose of Yixintai groups and Cozaar group was significantly decreased, but the LVEF and LVFS was significantly higher(P0.05). Compared with the model group, the left ventricular mass index and heart index of high-dose, middle-dose,low-dose of Yixintai groups and Cozaar group was significantly decreased(P0.05). As the light microscopy showed, compared with the model group, the degree of myocardial injury of high-dose Yixintai group and Cozaar group were significantly reduced. Conclusion Yixintai can improve myocardial remodeling in rats with heart failure and delay the progress of heart failure.
